The regular wild turkey hunting season usually starts during the first week of August running through beginning of November. In previous seasons, you could bag a limit of one 1 male bird, or 1 bird with a visible beard per day, up to two birds per season. Legal hunting hours are 1/2 hour before sunrise to sunset. The resident hunting license fee is $21.50, and tags are $11.50 each. For nonresidents, the hunting license fee is $76..50, unless you choose the optional three day bird hunting license for $21.50; tags are $17.50 each. If you are 18 years or younger, you must take a hunter safety course. If a turkey is taken with firearms, only a shotgun may be used, no larger than 10 gage, and no smaller than 20 gage; shot sizes no larger than BB, and no smaller than No. 6.
