Spectacular
We're bringing it back! The 2007 Minam &
Wallowa River Steelhead Fishing Spectacular drew anglers from all
over Oregon and the world! So Minam Motel and Market, in conjunction
with Wallowa Union Railroad
and Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife
proudly announce
the fourth year of Steelhead-Fishing-by-Rail down the Wallowa
Wild and Scenic Waterway. Anglers will have the entire 10-mile
stretch of river virtually to themselves and the steelhead. The wild
and scenic waterway is unspoiled and dazzling to behold.
This year we have included many
luxuries and options. You get a heated passenger car with hot lunch
and beverages included in the price of admission. You can pick the
spot on the river where you want to fish - the trains stops anywhere
you want! You can bring your own raft to fish from and we'll pick
you up and guided tours are available (call in advance)! You will
have up to ten miles along the Wallowa River virtually to yourself
as it meanders through the wild and scenic Wallowa River Canyon.
The Wallowa River Canyon has been
hailed as one of the best steelhead fishing and fly fishing spots in
both the West and America.
The fishing
spectacular will run every Saturday and Sunday in February and
March. Chartered train rides are available for company or group
outings.
Each trip is
limited to 25 anglers!
First come - First served! Book your reservations early!
Meet at the motel any time after 6:00 a.m. for a hot cup of coffee,
purchase a fishing license, or other fishing needs. Fishing begins
anytime after 6:00 a.m. at the Motel or from a location down river!
The train departs from Minam Motel at 7:00 a.m. and returns about
4:30 p.m. Price includes hot meal and beverage for $65.00 per adult
and $15.00 for children under 14.
Also available are the popular have half day trips, with the train
departing from the Minam Motel at 1:30 p.m. and returning at 4.15
p.m. Ticket prices are only $30.00 for adults and $10.00 for
children under 14. Prices do not include meals or beverages.

served basis. We have weekend packages available for the avid
