Whitewater Rafting Meets Railroad in Northeast Oregon
Travelers
seeking the most from their vacation budget this summer can make a
weekend get-away to Northeast Oregon's Wallowa River and experience
the same river twice with a 'River to Rails' rafting and train ride
combination.
The rafting portion of 'River to Rails' takes you down a
family-friendly ten-mile stretch of the road less Wallowa River,
with Class II whitewater thrilling enough for the kids, but small
enough so Mom and Dad don't need to be anxious.
After lunch on the
river, your river guide will help you out of your raft
or kayak and onto the Wallowa Union Rail Road for the
trip back up the beautiful Wallowa River Canyon and
another look at the rapids you've just run.
River to Rails weekend getaway package trips are
available on 6 Saturdays, June 27th to August 1st. The
package includes overnight accommodations at the Minam
Motel, site of raft launch and train stop.
